After a 2 week struggle and 3 weeks offline, I finally have internet access in my new apartment. And the world rejoices!

Right now I'm 246 blams or saves away from Supreme Commander. It is possible for me to hit that target before the new year if enough entries are submitted. Let the race begin!

(I'd be having a much easier time of this if I hadn't had to miss 50 or so last weekend. Ah well)

Well, I'm healthy and in my new apartment. Now the problem is that it's taking forever to get internet connectivity. I was supposed to have it last Friday, but now the earliest I'll have it will be tomorrow. In the meantime, I have two stops at a coffee shop each day in which to do as much as possible on my phone. If the world ends before I get to see digital boobs again, I shall be very put out.

I now have my third full-blown infection in a month and a half. This time it's an upper respiratory virus, which I know because two of my symptoms are a reduced appetite, and a fever of 103.1F. At least my body is actively trying to fight it off this time, I guess. And at least it's just one infection this time; last time was a viral in my sinuses and a bacterial in my lungs.

If anyone knows when I'm allowed to be healthy again, I'd really appreciate it if you'd tell me. Because this is fucking ridiculous.

Since being promoted to a portal mod, I've been taken out of the world twice for a week each time by sickness. Right now I'm on what I hope is the tail end of a head and throat cold, where I've coughed my throat raw, and my left ear is plugged to the point of having a constant ringing in it. My right ear got unclogged after 62 1/2 hours a little bit ago with the help of an abnormally hot shower, so now it's just the left one. The plan is to spend as much time as possible with my head laid down flat to the right, and if it's still clogged on Monday then I'll go to a walk-in clinic and see about getting something for it, because the last thing I need right now is for it to turn into a full-blown ear infection.

If I'm still sick when I wake up, that'll make a full week. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to this cold just being gone already.

My level icon got all gold aura'd up. Guess who's monitoring the portal now.

like you're the only person on the planet who isn't a complete retard?

In the last week, I've put in rental offers on 3 places. The first was a house, but the owner thinks he's a wizard who can block off the basement, install a kitchen down there, plus a shower, plus divide up the basement into bedroom and living area, plus install a window for the bedroom (as all bedrooms in Ontario are required by law to have), plus install a second washer/dryer in the linen closet upstairs, all in a day. The second was a corner apartment, but the landlord mysteriously took it off the market, without even telling her own realtor why. The current one thinks it's not against the law for him to use space I'm paying for to store his stuff in.

Anyone feel like giving me $500,000 so I can just buy my own place and be done with it?

I just updated my Indiegogo campaign with an extremely important update, which I will copy here. I've bolded the really important part:

I know I said yesterday that I'm okay with it taking a little while to get going, but I'm starting to get antsy. To that end, I've adjusted some of the perks to something I think is a little more reasonable, lowering the prices on the signed and personalized books and adding digital and physical copies to some of the higher-end ones.

I've also decided that I'd rather get more contributions early than late, so I'm going to add an overall incentive for people to contribute early: if I reach the full $6,000 by Noon Eastern Time on July 4, which is 15 days minus 11 hours from now as I write this, I will give $1,000 to Child's Play at RTX the following weekend. So you won't just be helping me edit and publish a book any more, you'll actually be helping to put games and toys in the hands of children who need them.

So now, not only is there incentive for you to pledge, but there's incentive for me to get where I'm trying to go more quickly. Let's see if we can help out charity, shall we?

Help me, Help Child's Play

Last week I finished writing the first draft of a horror novel I call Unseen. Now it's time to edit it and get it published, and I'm turning to crowd funding to help me get that done. In order to polish this story up and start shipping it around, I'm going to need to treat editing it basically like a full time job for the next couple months, because it was written in a format that worked well for how I originally released it, but will not work as well as a manuscript.

So if you would like to help out a fellow Newgrounder, I invite you to follow these links:

To read the first draft of the story in its entirety

To download the first chapter as a PDF

To contribute via Indiegogo. It's like Kickstarter, but international and you can pay with a credit card or paypal.

Thanks!

Chris
