This is a bad escape game

The solution makes no sense. First of all, the clickable area on top of the piano is so small and precise that it's hard to find in the first place. Once you find it, there's nothing at all to indicate it's where the key is, and there's no logical reason to suspect you're supposed to put EVERYTHING together and then stick it back in the piano. Good escape games are made by having logical escapes that make sense. The escape in this game seems to rely on already knowing what to do. This is a bad escape game.

I get what you're going for...

but it quickly becomes a grindfest. All you have to do is enter the complex and go South, hop on the seated gun in the corner room to kill everything, then alternate between that room and the previous one until you have enough cash to buy the best weapon and armor. Two things this game needs:

1) Enemies stop respawning at some point
2) Save your progress

Collision detection is way off

Half the time I'm perfectly in line to hit the ball in the air, but it registers as hitting the ground first anyway. That's no good. Either the collision detection is poor, or you need to make the detecting area larger. Other than that, it's a nice little way to kill a few minutes.

Very good game

The only thing it's really missing is the ability to retool on continue. I tried out the rocket launcher right away when I got it, and after finding out it was basically useless in my playstyle I died. Then I had to keep retrying the level using almost exclusively my flamethrower backup weapon, rather than being able to go back to the sniper rifle like I wanted, which made it needlessly difficult.

Other than that, all is well.

This is a bad game

I watched the walkthrough, and it seems like the solution requires you to already know where everything is; if you don't already know where things are hidden, there's absolutely no way to figure it out. There's nothing at all to indicate the wrench is where it is, and breaking the tiles in the bathtub area is entirely ridiculous. 2/10 for the game at least functioning, but 0/5 for it literally being impossible to figure out on your own.

Not bad for a first game

There are a few things the game needs added to it in order to be really good:

- A way to know how many stars are left
- A map (secondary; not really needed, but very helpful)
- Better collision detection: a few times I got hung up on trees that I'd already passed, because one of the branches was in my way
- Restart button

Also, once the game ends the ground keeps moving, so eventually you'll have just a bunch of trees and stars standing in clouds.

Overall it shows lots of promise, so keep at it and I'm sure your next game will be even better. As a rule of thumb, think to yourself "what would I want to see in a game like this" and then try to put it in. If you make the game you want to play, others will want to play it too.

MarcheFinal responds:

I tried to put a restart button, but the tree would just freeze-up over the game [I wonder why, tough]. Anyway, next time I'll be able to do something more interesting, perhaps an rpg...
I'm getting better with action script everyday, so be sure it will improve !

Learning Curve, please

The difficulty difference between the first and second level is enormous, and it goes up by a huge amount again between the second and third. You need to give your playing public a chance to ease themselves into your game.

Learning Curve, please

This game starts off way too hard for any sort of learning curve to take place. Let us get into it more gradually, start with fewer, slower-moving nightmares so we can get used to the controls, then gradually increase their speed and/or frequency.

Also please fix the controls, because they kept locking up.

Can't submit my score

I'm scoring too high, it won't let me submit my score. Returns "sorta sorting: undefined." So far my best score is 1,348,348,858,398 (screenshots available on request). I think you need to scrub the current scores and change the scoring mechanism so that it's not possible to get huge scores like I'm getting, or else work with Mochi to change their leaderboard software to allow larger numbers.

Other than that, which is kind of out of your control since it's really a problem on Mochi's end, the game runs smoothly and it's a nice way to spend one minute at a time. I will come back to this game again.

Deploy the... I think it's a yellow button... it's usually flashing... it makes the engines go... WHOOSH!
