It is what it is

Only thing I'm missing now is what to do with the eggs in the first scene, which I assume leads to another in-game secret medal. Everything about the game is about as good as can be expected given the premise, so no complaints. I particularly like the card design. However, the logic behind the prisoner stopping to eat after killing everyone is kind of off; I'm sure he'd just make a break for it.

OzMafioso responds:

Yeah, most criminals would just bail, but I tried to keep a little humor in the game as well :) Glad you liked it!

Well I beat it

What's the math problem it's based on?

GeneralVimes responds:

The question in the math problem is the same as in the game: how to get to the lakeshore, if the enemy's speed is 4 times higher than the player's

Not bad

Unfortunately, it suffers from the same problem from which all games of this type suffer: after a point, you have so many pumpkins to place that it's impossible to lose with non-reckless play. I decided to stop after level 25 with 25,480 points because I felt like moving on to something else. Also, you may want to think about letting the pumpkin continue to grow when it hits a wall.

wlindquist responds:

Thanks for your comment! I see what you mean about it getting too easy. I'll try to make some adjustments to make it better/harder.

How addicting? SO addicting.

Also, I broke the scoreboard. I've written up a medal guide for the game, and I included a gameplay video that shows how to get a really high score, as well as an aftermath video showing what happens when you get a 32 creature combo. It's at http://dimono.newgrounds.com/news/pos t/526392 (sans spaces, obviously).

As for constructive criticism... well, I have none, because aside from the restriction on the NG scoreboard this game is exactly as good as it can be. The only thing I'd maybe request is a quit button in-game, so if you see your game is going nowhere you don't have to wait for the screen to fill up.

fortunacus responds:

hei, can you make the new video, I have make revison on the game, please try that and a new MEDAL!!!

thanks a lot for the video
more casual game ahead :D

please tell me if there is a bug on my update, thanks

You seem to be missing some songs

Tea and Crumpets and Samurai Swing are nowhere to be heard in your submission. Also, I think you'd do better with your achievement descriptions if they just said "finish such-and-such-a-song without missing a note" rather than saying "at least (perfect) points on song such-and-such."

Also the Hot Tea achievement is not on the Achievements screen. So you may want to do something about that.

Those points aside, it's a pretty good implementation of the Guitar Hero play style.

geel9 responds:

Whoops, I fixed that. Please clear your cache before replaying.

Precisely one problem

When you get your hat stack up to the Platinum level, it's impossible to dodge torches that come out on top of you or to catch hats that don't. That makes the last (and undoubtedly 100pt) medal completely based in luck, as anyone can get their stack to Platinum level but only the lucky few will have the torches and hats fall in the correct places after that. I have a solution though: any chance of giving us a split-second warning when a torch is going to show up? That would do nicely to solve this difficulty.

keybol responds:

Thanks! I saw your review and guide for the medals for Cap Stack, that is really helpful! And you got the Touch the Sky medal! Hardcore!

I'll be honest

This is a great game in its simplicity, and gameplay couldn't be more straightforward; that makes it addicting.

The problem is the 1,000,000 points on a single jump medal. In the air for 9 seconds with a 100x multiplier going 60kph I didn't even come CLOSE to 1,000,000, and the highest I know of anyone getting is 450,000. Until I see a video of someone achieving 1m points in a single jump, I'm going to assume it's impossible, and suggest that the medal be changed to 300,000 points in a single jump and worth 50 medal points.

fucrate responds:

Yea, its hard. You gotta jump about 10-12 gates to really get it up there, but it's very doable for expert players.

Keep trying!

Inaccurate at best

From the questions in this test there is no way to correctly establish someone's IQ. The hardest question I encountered was People:Democracy:Wealth:? and that was only difficult because I didn't know what an oligopoly was.

According to this test my IQ is 153, but there were no questions here that were nearly difficult enough to establish an IQ that high. Passing grade because I suppose it works, but I'm definitely not impressed by the assumptions involved in the coding.

DemiseAnimation responds:

Its based on the decisions you make, not the intelligence level of the questions

Deploy the... I think it's a yellow button... it's usually flashing... it makes the engines go... WHOOSH!
